Congratulations to Edel Maguire, Clonliffe Hrs who was named Master Athlete of the Year at AAI Gala Awards last week. Edel has had a fantastic year, winning both World & European titles, as well as continuing to post National records. A worthy winner after 2 previous nominations.   Wed 3 rd Dec saw the start of Track & Field live from the NIA in Abbottstown & this kicked off in style with 2 World Records, (subject to ratification) by F40 & M80 4 x 400m relay Teams. The British & Irish Masters CC Champs hosted by English Masters in Roundhay Park, Leeds last weekend, will go down in the annals as one of the most challenging events in the history of these Champs & that was even before the racing commenced on Saturday. With storm Claudia disrupting many flights on Friday, Athletes, Supporters & Team Managers had to make hasty plans to make it over to Leeds on time, with some getting onto alternative flights to Manchester & others reschedule

Best wishes to our Athletes who will be travelling over to Leeds this coming weekend to compete at the British & Irish Masters CC Champs in Roundhay Park on Sat 15 th , especially to those who have been selected for the very first time. Unfortunately, since the initial teams were selected, we have had a few Athletes forced to withdraw due to injuries, but thankfully we had Reserves who when called up, filled in the vacancies.
