Entries closed last week for World Masters T & F Champs in Daegu, with an incredible 35 Irish Master Athletes entered. This is almost double the number who travelled when last held there in 2017.

Congrats to Tina Gallagher who was presented with the NI Masters T & F Athlete of the Year 2025/26 at Northern Ireland Masters T & F Champs last Sat at Mary Peters Track in Belfast. Tina has had a stellar past season winning numerous medals both at National level plus at European Masters in Maderia last year & in Torun back in March. Many Master Athletes also travelled to Belfast from the South to compete & greatly appreciated the warm welcome & competition, please see link below for full results

There was also a good number of Master Athletes competing at World Masters Mountain Champs in Czechia over the weekend. Pride of place to Majella Diskin Ind Gold & Pauline Moran Ind silver plus together with Carmel Mac Domhnaill, they also won Team Gold F70. Team silver also for the M70s, with Matt Alexander, Joe Gough & Joseph Lalor. A few other medals were picked up through the various age groups, see link below for further details.

Final call to Master Athletes for forthcoming Masters Athletics 1 day league hosted by DSD on Sat 11th July. This was a very enjoyable event when held last year, so your support would be greatly appreciated. Club or County teams can enter.
