Another busy weekend just passed with a good number of Master Athletes travelling abroad to compete Internationally. At the European Masters Mountain Champs in Rosnov, Romania, the Irish Team finished a highly creditable 9th Nation overall in the medals table, winning 3 Golds, 3 Silvers & 4 Bronze.  Another successful haul by the Athletes who competed at the British Masters T&F Champs in Derby, winning a grand total of 15 medals. Now that the T&F season has drawn to a close, we can look forward to the cross country kicking off. To recap, IMAA will this year host the British & Irish Masters CC Champs in Abbottstown on Sat 14th Nov. In advance of this Irish Teams from 35 to 75 incl will be selected following trial race held also in Abbottstown on Sunday 18th Oct. This will be run in conjunction with AAI Autumn CC, see flyer plus link below for full details. Selection criteria are as follows.

 

Age groups 35 to 50 incl, teams of 5 to run, first 3 home in the trial automatically selected, with the option of 2 wildcard selections

 

Age groups 55 to 75 incl, teams of 4 to run, first 3 home in the trial automatically selected, with the option of 1  wildcard selection.

 

Ind medals only will be awarded in 80 plus category in the Champ race. These Athletes can also compete on 75 age teams if finish in the top 3 in the trial race.

 

Any Athlete who competes in their relevant age group on trial date, but are eligible for next age group by 14th Nov, please ensure that you inform selectors, so they are aware of this.

 

Athletes who are unable to compete in trial race but wish to be considered for selection must submit in writing reason unable to compete, plus also recent race results from Aug up to Oct by Wed 14th Oct to International Sec, Pat O’Grady @  internationalsecimaa@gmail.com  Verbal requests will not be entertained.
