Finally onto Master CC Trials which will be held in conjunction with AAI Autumn CC in Abbottstown on Sunday 16th Oct. The Jim McNamara Perpetual Trophies will be awarded to the first Female & Male Master Athletes in each race. Selection criteria for Teams as follows;
Re trial, same selection policy will apply, as in previous years, i.e. for teams where 6 Athletes are required, M35 up to M50 incl. first 4 across the line will gain automatic selection, with the option of 2 wildcard requests, (if submitted) been considered by selection committee. All other teams, i.e.M55 to M75 plus all women’s teams have 4 Athletes, with first 3 across the line gaining selection with 1 wildcard option.
Please note that where an Athlete is running under their correct age category for trial, but is eligible for new category by 12th Nov, then this will have to be factored in by Selection Comm when selecting Teams. The onus is on the Athlete to notify IMAA in advance to avoid any problems arising after Teams are named.
Any Athlete wishing to be considered for selection must be a registered member of an Athletics club, plus also be a fully paid up member of IMAA (Annual Fee €15) Requests must also be submitted in writing, outlining why unable to attend plus also provide recent race results from previous 6-8 weeks. These should be forwarded to International Sec, Pat O’Grady.
Verbal or phone requests will not be entertained. Full details will be available on our website from next week onwards.
