National Masters; DSD Masters Games - 1-Day League; IMAA Awards Night; European T&F C'ship

Congratulations to all Master Athletes who competed at 123.ie AAI National Masters Champs in Tullamore last Saturday. Ronan will have a busy time pursuing all the results & updating records over the coming days. Great competition throughout the day & for first time, this was also live streamed by Athletics Ireland. A shout out here to our commentators who stepped in at short notice, Avril, Ian, Michael & Sean. You can still catch up on all the action from the link below; A huge word of thanks to all the Officials from AAI, especially President, Brid Golden who was on hand to present the medals & to Georgina Drumm, Head of Competition, who ensured that all ran smoothly & kept a tight reign throughout the day to ensure that the timetable did not overrun. Also to all the members of the host club, Tullamore Hrs, we are indebted for your efforts in ensuring that the track & infield had all the equipment readily available. We know from the feedback provided by the Athletes that this was greatly appreciated by all. It should be noted that the majority of Officials were back on duty again on Sunday for AAI National League finals & am sure all will be turning out again this coming weekend for National Seniors T&F Champs in Santry. Without their dedication & their commitment in giving up their free time, many of these events could not be held

For Athletes who still wish to seek out T&F competition, don’t forget initiative been promoted by DSD to facilitate a unique track event on Sat 30th Aug. This will also enable Athletes who are in training for European Masters T&F Champs to have some additional competition prior to travelling out in Oct. To cap off day’s competition, IMAA Gala Awards ceremony will take place in Eden House, Rathfarnham later that evening. Your support for both events would be greatly appreciated. Know that Ronan, Avril, Kevin & many others in DSD are working extremely hard in pulling all this together & will be more than happy to answer any queries. Also please note that online entries for European Masters T & F Champs, scheduled from 8th to 19th Oct in Maderia is also now open. Please see https://european-masters-athletics.org  for further information. This will also provide details of calendar of events for 2026 Champs. Please note that Athletes entering for Maderia must be registered members of Athletic clubs here in Ireland or in their country of residence if not currently registered with AAI. Also, must be a fully paid-up Member of IMAA in order to have your entry validated by IMAA International Sec.
