Weekend Roundup from Kilkenny

Another great day of Athletics in Gowran on Sunday 12th Feb with the local Athletic club hosting the 123.ie AAI Masters & Intermediate CC Champs. East Cork A.C. produced both Men & Women’s Individual Champions. Fiona Santry won the opening race, with Fiona Gettings of Longford A.C. 2nd & Edel Gaffney Trim A.C. 3rd. Tim O’Donoghue retained the Men’s title followed home by Dublin Masters CC Champ Mick Clohisey of Raheny Shamrock & Eoin Flynn of Rathfarnham A.C in 3rd. Full results can be found via www.myrunresults.com Great credit to the local Club & Community in Gowran who hosted a great event, with an excellent course. Thanks also to all the Officials & Volunteers who ensured that all ran smoothly on the day.

For those travelling to Torun, Lucy Moore is planning to host an Anti-doping educational session on Fri 24th Feb scheduled for 7.30pm via zoom. Please check on Torun WhatsApp Group for further detail. Would urge as many as possible to tune in as it’s important that Athletes are fully compliant & aware what need to do if on any prescribed medication. An anti-doping team turned up in Athlone @ 123.ie AAI Masters Champs previous weekend & a number of Athletes were tested.

Please note that IMAA AGM is scheduled for Sat 25th Feb @ 3pm in Donore Hrs Clubhouse, Chapelizod. A number of key positions will need to be filled including President & Sec, so it is important that as many as possible attend. Nominations & motions need to be forwarded to current Sec @ michaelfennell88@gmail.com by Friday 17th Feb. I am not in a position to carry on, though am happy continue on in the incoming Committee, if nominated, but unfortunately, I have to take some time out over the coming months. I have informed current Committee & appreciate their support with my decision
