End July 2024 Update/ News

A final rally call to all Master Athletes, please note that online entries for 123.ie AAI Masters T&F Champs in Tullamore on Sunday 4th Aug will close Sun 28th July, please see www.entry.athleticsireland.ie

In advance of this, Ronan Gately has managed to co-ordinate 4 relay teams over 4 x 800m to attack Masters World Records in the following age categories; W35 (9:25.27), W45 (9:36.94),  W70 (14:45.88) & M70 (10:35.59) This follows on from 2 records broken earlier in the year by W45s (9:40.76) subsequently bettered by USA & W65s (12:59.94). Great work by Ronan who has been endeavouring to pull together as many teams as possible to challenge existing records. This latest attempt has been kindly facilitated in the final Dublin Graded meet, which will take place at 6.30pm on Wed next 31st July in Morton Stadium, Santry. Greatly appreciate the support of Dublin Athletics Board in accommodating this attempt over the 4 age groups, so all support on the night would be welcome.

Finally, we are indebted once again to Lucy Moore Fox who will host another Anti-Doping seminar on Fri 2nd Aug 2024. This is recommended to all Master Athletes, as we have had Testers turn up at a number of Masters Champs over the past few years. It will also prove invaluable to Athletes who are travelling to Gothenburg for World Masters Champs in a few week’s time. Remember, you are solely responsible to ensure that any medication that is prescribed or supplements you might be taking are fully compliant with World Athletics rules. Ignorance of the rules will not a defence. Please email an expression of interest to Lucy @ lucymoorefox@gmail.com
