Congratulations to all who completed Irish Life Dublin City Marathon last Sunday. Great to be back after pandemic halted proceedings over the previous 2 years. We are also delighted to announce that Anne Gilshinan F55, Slaney Olympic has been selected as Master Athlete of the year & will be presented with her award at AAI Gala Awards on Wed 23rdNov. It’s been a phenomenal year for Master Athletics, with many fantastic achievements by Irish Athletes competing at European Indoors in Braga, World Outdoor Champs in Tampere & non stadia in Grossseto. Anne won a total of 5 gold medals over both indoor & outdoor champs & currently holds 6 World records. We are fortunate to have such an exceptional athlete competing at present and this award is richly deserved.
Plans are now well underway for British & Irish Masters CC Champs scheduled for Sat 12th Nov. All selected athletes have been notified, so please confirm that you are available plus will also need to know if attending gala function that night. For those booked into the Clayton Hotel, race nos will be handed out on Friday night from 7.30pm at team meeting. Nos will be also distributed on Sat morning in Santry Demense from 10am. Please note for those travelling on the morning to the race, parking is strictly limited around the area, so please allow adequate time to locate a safe area to park.
With the assistance of My Run results, we have produced 2 special edition tee shirts for sale. First one includes all participants names in the British & Irish Masters CC Champs plus also a replica supporters tee shirt. 50% of the sale profits will go to Creeslough fund, so please support this very worthy cause. An open race, confined to Master Athletes will take place @ 2pm covering same distances as championship races, i.e. 8km up to M & W60 & 6km from M & W65. Pre-entries @ €10 or €15 on the day. Entries via the link below;
