Autumn Open

Busy day in Abbottstown last Sunday with Avril Dillion hosting first of her coaching sessions for Sprinters in the Indoor Arena. Positive vibes from all who attended and will assist Athletes as the head into Winter months and focus for Indoor Season ahead, which will culminate with either the AAI National Masters in Jan or European Masters Indoor Champs in Torun March 2024. Avril will host another session mid Nov, but this is already booked out. Given the interest shown for these sessions, we are currently working on securing a more comprehensive programme, with John Dwyer, Lucy Moore & Trevor McGlynn offering their coaching services. Please watch this site & we will announce full details once we have secured a venue & suitable date.

Further up in the campus, the CC season kicked off with AAI hosting Autumn CC which incorporated trial for selection for forthcoming British & Irish Masters CC Champs, scheduled for Glasgow on Sat 11th Nov. Eoin Everard, KCH & Noeleen Scanlon, Letterkenny A.C. were first Master Athletes home, winning the Jim McNamara Perpetual Trophy’s for 2023. Teams will be picked over the next day or 2 & selected Athletes will be notified and provided with all relevant details in relation to Glasgow. Full Teams will be published on the website later in the week, once Athletes have been notified. Any Athlete selected but not in a position to take up their spot, please advise Team Managers ASAP, so Reserve(s) can be called up.

President IMAA
