NOTICE OF 2026 ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING
The 2026 Annual General Meeting of the Irish Master Athletes Association (IMAA)
will be held at 7pm on Sunday 22nd of February 2026, via a Zoom link that will be provided.
All registered members of IMAA are invited to submit motions and nominations for elected officers for consideration at the AGM.

Just 2 weeks into the New Year & already Irish Master Athletes are making their mark. We were delighted to hear over the first week in Jan that Anne Gilshinan was named European Masters Middle Distance Athlete of the Year for 2025. Winning many titles throughout 2025, she set 2 European Masters records when winning both the 800m & 1500ms in Maderia last Oct & then went on to set a World Masters Indoor record over the mile in Abbottstown in Dec. Anne celebrated this award in style by breaking the Irish F60 800m in Abbottstown last Wed with Dara Carr F55 also setting a new 200m (28.99) & Pauric McKinney M60, 5.13:88 for the mile. One other record of note was the 32.24 over 10km by Sorcha Ni Dhomhnaill F40 at Valencia last Sunday. Congratulations to all Athletes.

Entries are now open for European Masters Indoor Champs in Torun, which take place between 27th Mar to 2nd Apr 2026. This has proved to be a very popular Champ for Irish Master Athletes, so we anticipate another huge number of participants travelling. Please see link below for additional info & entry. Entries for this will close on 8th Feb

Lucy Moore will once again run an anti-doping presentation online, Friday 20th Feb commencing @7.30pm. We would strongly urge all Master Athletes to sit in on this, especially those who are competing abroad in International Championships. Athletes are ultimately responsible for the medication & any supplements that they are taking, so please ensure that you are fully compliment with World Athletics Rules. Lucy, in conjunction with Irish Weightlifting Assoc gives a very insightful & informative presentation. We have had Testers turn up at both Master’s National Indoor & Outdoor Champs in recent years, so once again we recommend that as many of you as possible take advantage of this opportunity.
