Best wishes to our Athletes who will be travelling over to Leeds this coming weekend to compete at the British & Irish Masters CC Champs in Roundhay Park on Sat 15th, especially to those who have been selected for the very first time. Unfortunately, since the initial teams were selected, we have had a few Athletes forced to withdraw due to injuries, but thankfully we had Reserves who when called up, filled in the vacancies. With both the Men’s & Women’s teams out to defend their overall titles from Belfast last year, they will face stiff opposition from the English teams who will be turning out strong squads & endeavour to recapture those titles back, especially on home ground. Both trial winners Dymphna Ryan F45 & Conan McCaughey M35 will be strong contenders for Ind medals, together with Annette Kealy F55, Christine Kennedy F70, Margaret Glavey F75 & Pauric McKinney M60. Also great to see Paul Elliot M70 return to action after very serious health scare in 2024. Paul is currently featured in Niall Powers latest “The Masters of Running” See link below, Full results & race report next week.
Also pleased to announce that Track & Field Live (Indoors) is back, kicking off on Wed 3rd Dec in Abbotstown. David Matthews has agreed to facilitate a half hour slot on opening night for 4 Masters 200m races, 2 Men’s & 2 Women’s; plus also both M80 & W40 4x400m World Record attempts. See full list of dates below plus link to enter for future events.
