A hearty congratulations to all who competed in the British & Irish Masters

CC Champs in Swansea last weekend. Teresa Doherty F40, making her debut in

this event was a very impressive overall winner in race 1, taking command very

early on, and having a comfortable 5 second margin over Kirsty Longley F40 from

England. Pauline Moran, F60 retained her title, with additional ind. Medals for

Carmel Crowley silver F50, & Niamh O’Sullivan silver F55. Team medals as follows,

F35 silver, F40silver, F45 silver, F50 silver, F55 bronze, F60 silver, F65 bronze & F70



The  M65 plus also run in conjunction with open race, with Martin McEvilly taking

ind. silver in the M70s. M65s & M75s finished 4th but M70s won silver.


In race 2, Mick Byrne M55 finished 9th overall & also captured the M55 title.

Defending Champ. Martin McDonald M60 had to settle for 4th but team medals i

n all 3 categories, with bronze for M50s, bronze M55s & bronze M55s.


In final Champ race, Mark McKinstry M35 was a very impressive winner with a

30 second margin. Michael Harty, overall winner back in Glasgow showed a return

to form by taking ind. Bronze.  Unfortunately M35s were denied victory on count

back, losing out to England as both teams finished on 28points. M45s also won

silver with M40s finishing 4th overall.



Next years event will be hosted by English Masters & will take place on Sat 16th Nov, just outside Southport.


As 2018 now draws to a close, focus will turn towards 2019, with World Masters Indoors taking place in Torun, Poland next March. Online entry now open, please check www.wmaci.2019 for entry plus additional information.
